Civil Engineer, Site & Land Development (AutoCAD)
Role Overview
Our client is seeking a Civil Engineer to lead and support civil design projects from concept through construction. This is a great opportunity for an engineer with a few years of experience who is ready to take on more project responsibility and ownership of site and land development work across commercial, industrial, residential, and municipal projects.
What You'll Do
- Lead and support civil design projects from concept through construction.
- Prepare and review grading, drainage, utility, and site development plans.
- Perform engineering calculations and ensure compliance with local and state regulations.
- Deliver end-to-end site project deliverables, including concept-level layouts, production construction plan sets, stormwater and detention sizing, utility layout, and erosion control.
- Provide bidding and construction-phase support.
- Coordinate closely with in-house land surveyors and site planners.
- Communicate with municipalities, clients, and internal teams.
- Manage municipal plan review, permitting submittals, and construction-phase changes.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
- 3+ years of professional civil engineering experience, with at least 3 years of continuous design responsibility on site or land development projects
- Strong proficiency in AutoCAD
- Demonstrated experience delivering end-to-end site project deliverables: grading, drainage, stormwater and detention sizing, utility layout, and erosion control
- Experience with site development, land development, municipal, or transportation projects
- Documented experience coordinating with land surveyors, planners, municipal plan reviewers, and clients
- Track record of obtaining municipal approvals and managing permit submittals
