Structural Engineer 


Role Overview

Our client is seeking a Structural Engineer (PE) to interface with clients, develop schematic and final designs, coordinate with in-house disciplines, and lead design efforts across a range of building projects. This is a hands-on engineering role with project leadership responsibility, suited for a licensed PE with strong Revit and IBC expertise who is ready to mentor staff and own multiple projects simultaneously.


What You'll Do

  • Work on multiple project teams to successfully complete projects from concept through construction.
  • Develop structural designs through all project phases, including schematic and final design.
  • Prepare studies, reports, and construction documents.
  • Design building materials and systems with sound load paths and member sizing across common building materials.
  • Coordinate with clients, architects, engineers, and contractors throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Oversee drawing production, specifications, and documentation, ensuring quality and consistency.
  • Coordinate with internal disciplines including MEP and architecture.
  • Conduct field surveys, site evaluations, and site observations.
  • Perform construction administration activities including RFIs, submittals, and inspections.
  • Manage project budgets and schedules across multiple simultaneous projects.
  • Perform IBC code reviews and establish project design criteria.
  • Review shop drawings and prepare engineering reports.
  • Prepare AIA Masterspec documents and estimates.
  • Mentor project team members and oversee daily workflow of project staff.
  • Collaborate with leadership on organizational goals and recommend new technologies and process improvements.

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
  • 4 to 6 years of structural engineering experience
  • Active Professional Engineer (PE) license
  • Required proficiency in Revit and BIM-based documentation workflows
  • Demonstrated structural design and analysis experience for building systems, including load paths, member sizing, and design across common building materials
  • Experience preparing construction documents, specifications, and estimates
  • Working knowledge of IBC (International Building Code) and establishment of project design criteria
  • Construction administration experience (RFIs, submittals, inspections, site observations)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including technical writing proficiency
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and time management
  • Project leadership and staff mentoring experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Ability to work remotely while staying connected with the team
