Sr Electrical Engineer

As an Electrical Engineer III, you'll manage complex projects that directly impact critical energy infrastructure over a 24-month engagement. You'll apply your expertise to design solutions, troubleshoot issues, review contractor engineering deliverables, and drive innovation across power distribution systems supporting pipelines, compressor stations, and storage facilities. You'll lead small teams, collaborate across disciplines, and deliver clear presentations to stakeholders — balancing technical depth with project leadership as a key contributor to the organization's success.

What You'll Do

  • Design, implement, and optimize electrical systems and power distribution networks supporting critical infrastructure such as pipelines, compressor stations, and storage facilities
  • Review deliverables from contractors' engineering drawings involving high-voltage equipment, transformers, generators, and switchgear
  • Promote integration of advanced technologies including automation, real-time monitoring, and energy storage to enhance system performance and reduce operational costs
  • Implement robust safety measures such as arc flash mitigation and fault detection systems to protect personnel and ensure infrastructure reliability
  • Support procurement processes for electrical equipment and materials, leveraging established industry contacts for sourcing reliable vendors and suppliers
  • Participate in commissioning, testing, and startup of electrical equipment to ensure proper functionality and compliance with design specifications
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant safety, environmental, and regulatory standards across electrical systems and project execution
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver engineering solutions that meet internal and external customer needs

What We're Looking For

Must-Have:

  • Experience in power system design, analysis, and simulation (e.g., ETAP, MATLAB, PSCAD, Simulink, or similar tools)
  • Experience with high-voltage equipment — transformers, generators, and switchgear — reviewing deliverables from contractors' engineering drawings
  • Understanding of grid integration and renewable energy systems
  • Experience supporting procurement processes for electrical equipment and materials, with established industry contacts for sourcing reliable vendors and suppliers
  • Familiarity within the construction field
  • Experience participating in commissioning, testing, and startup of electrical equipment to ensure proper functionality and compliance with design specifications

Preferred:

  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) licensure
  • Master's degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Working knowledge of electrical design codes (NEC, NEMA, API, IEEE, etc.)
  • Experience with PLCs and HMI systems
  • Project management experience
  • Pre-FEED, FEED, or EPC experience on small-to-medium facility projects

What's In It For You

  • Pay rate: $57/hour (≈ $118,560/year annualized equivalent)
  • 24-month engagement offering long-term project continuity and stability
  • Opportunity to work on high-impact electrical infrastructure projects at a leading energy organization
  • Exposure to advanced technologies in automation, real-time monitoring, and energy storage
  • Collaborative, cross-functional environment across engineering disciplines
