Role Overview

A food production facility is hiring a Wastewater Level A Operator to run and maintain its onsite water treatment system. This is a senior operator seat rather than a supervisory one, you'll hold Direct Responsible Charge, own the compliance and reporting cycle, run process control lab work, and be capable of rebuilding any pump or piece of equipment on the system yourself. The role suits an operator who knows the whole plant, not just one section of it.

What You'll Do

• Operate the water treatment system, maintaining the maintenance schedule and responding to repairs
• Support the overall environmental compliance programme for the water treatment system, including oversight of required monitoring and the reporting of sample results to federal, state, and local regulators
• Perform process control lab work and sampling
• Maintain compliance recordkeeping
• Rebuild and repair pumps and treatment equipment
• Adhere to all safety requirements — PPE, Lock Out/Tag Out, Process Safety Management — and prevent and report unsafe acts and conditions

What We're Looking For

Essential

• Active Level III (Class III) Wastewater Operator license, valid in — or transferable to — the job location jurisdiction
• 4 years' acceptable operating experience in Class II or higher wastewater facilities
• Minimum 2 years serving in a position of Direct Responsible Charge at a Class II+ facility
• Associate's Degree in Science or Engineering from an accredited institution, or equivalent board-approved credit hours
• Demonstrated hands-on pump and equipment rebuild capability
• Working knowledge of federal, state, and local wastewater regulations and associated reporting requirements
• Process control lab and sampling experience

Preferred

• Background in industrial wastewater within a regulated production environment (food processing, paper, chemical, or utilities)
• Familiarity with Process Safety Management programmes
