Gas Turbine Technician / Specialist – Power Innovation (Commissioning)
Contract | Onsite – Bowling Green, OH (43402) | 12-Hour, 7-On/7-Off Rotation
Role Overview
A power and energy infrastructure programme is bringing on Gas Turbine Technicians to support commissioning, startup, and operations across generation assets, BESS, and substations. This is a hands-on field role — executing commissioning plans, running test protocols, finding the root cause when equipment misbehaves, and closing out records so systems can be turned over cleanly. Two positions available.
What You'll Do
- Provide advanced technical expertise on gas turbine systems through commissioning, startup, and operations
- Support safe, efficient commissioning and system turnover, including coordination of FAT/SAT activities, systemization, and punch-list closure
- Execute commissioning plans, procedures, and test protocols
- Review technical test reports and complete commissioning records and technical documentation
- Identify root causes of equipment issues and implement corrective actions
- Prepare and deliver technical briefings, commissioning readiness reviews, and post-event summaries to project leadership and cross-functional teams
- Adopt new technologies and drive operational efficiency across the commissioning effort
- Perform additional duties as needed to support commissioning

- Ability to work in extreme conditions and at elevated levels with appropriate PPE
Preferred
- Associate or 2-year technical degree
- Experience with Siemens SGT-800 and A-35 gas turbines
What's In It For You
- Front-line role on a live power innovation commissioning programme spanning generation, BESS, and substations
- Direct hands-on turbine work through energization and startup rather than desk-based support
- Exposure across Engineering, Construction, Operations, and OEM teams
- 7-on/7-off rotation — full week off between hitches
